24-Mile train ride from Carson City to Virginia City, Nevada<\/span><\/h2>\n

You will depart from the\u00a0Eastgate Depot in Carson City\u00a0<\/strong>(4650 Eastgate Siding Rd, Carson City, NV 89701 \u2013\u00a0off Flint Drive, see map<\/a>) for an all day adventure which includes exploring Virginia City, then return to Carson City in the afternoon. Starting just above the\u00a0Carson River Canyon<\/strong>, the train runs along Mound House<\/strong>\u00a0by U.S. Hwy. 50, then picks up the historic,\u00a0Comstock Era\u00a0V & T route<\/a><\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

What you\u2019ll see\u2026<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Watch for mines and silver ore veins. You\u2019ll ride throughTunnel No. 2, and see theAmerican Flat, the site of a gold\u00a0and silver mining town that lobbied to become the state capital, but disappeared when the ore did. You\u2019ll see the\u00a0Overman Pit Embankment\u00a0(<\/span>300,000 cubic yards of fill rising 120 feet above the east side of the mining pit). You\u00a0may even see wild mustangs, their lineage proves to go back over 400 years. The train will pass theScales\/Water Stop\u00a0where 260,000 tons of ore were weighed here in one year (1876) and 40 trains a day picked up water.<\/span><\/p>\n
